Description

First Quarter: Introduction to production/logistics, including: multiobjective, stochastic, and dynamic facility location problems; multiechelon and multiitem inventory models; and heuristic approximate,and exact vehicle routing algorithms. Second Quarter: Introduction to production/distribution facility design and control, capacity management, and push and pull production systems: MRP, JIT, and ConWIP; introduction to deterministic and stochastic production scheduling: job shop and flow shop.

Prerequisites

IE 450-1 and at least concurrent enrollment in IE 460-1
